Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team at Sandstone Care. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily floor activities and transport clients to and from scheduled activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Monitor clients constantly and collaborate with nurses and other staff to ensure their needs are met.
  • Assist with mealtime setup, light laundry, room cleaning, and grounds maintenance as needed, promoting a clean and comfortable environment.
  • Conduct admission and discharge processes for new and existing clients, including paperwork, drug and alcohol tests, skin checks, and inventory searches, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Perform regular safety checks on clients every 15 or 30 minutes, depending on their risk level, prioritizing their safety and security.
Requirements
  • Candidates must have 2 years of college education or a high school diploma with 1 year of experience in the human services field, demonstrating a strong foundation in mental health and wellness.
  • Candidates must be First Aid/CPR certified prior to their first day of employment, ensuring they are equipped to respond to emergencies.
  • Previous experience with treatment of substance abuse and/or co-occurring disorders is strongly preferred, as is training in verbal de-escalation and/or mental health.
  • A valid driver's license with no restrictions is required, as candidates will be responsible for transporting clients in a 15-passenger van.
