Senior Aviation Strategy Analyst

John H. Northrop & Associates is seeking a skilled Site Manager/Senior Analyst to deliver expert support to our government client within the Aviation Concepts, Experimentation and Analysis Directorate (CEAD). This role is essential for guiding Concept Development and Experimentation Support.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be tasked with providing Subject Matter Expertise and operational assistance in the concept development and experimentation processes. The primary focus is on shaping future aviation concepts, identifying necessary capabilities, conducting studies, and performing gap analyses.

  • Engage in the planning, drafting, coordination, and approval of all facets of Army Aviation supporting concepts, including CONOPS development and capability assessments.
  • Incorporate Army Aviation required capabilities and identify capability gaps into Joint and Army Concepts, Functional Assessments, and Future Capability Workbooks.
  • Conduct comprehensive studies and analyses to delineate material and non-material requirements for future aviation systems and subsystems. Recommend modifications to Aviation doctrine, organizational structures, training, and leadership development.
  • Review and provide feedback on revisions to AFC Centers of Excellence Functional Areas and Future Capability Workbooks.
  • Offer SME and analytical support for learning and experimentation events led by the FCC. Capture insights from these events to enhance Aviation concept development and gap analysis.
  • Deliver Aviation subject matter expertise and analytical support for the evaluation of various Aviation formations, including assessments of existing force structures and capabilities.
  • Develop concepts of operations (CONOPS) and assess rotorcraft and fixed-wing employment issues, executing experimentation or study tasks in support of Army and Joint Programs.
  • Provide operational, technical, and programmatic support for various joint combined arms exercises and simulations, ensuring effective execution both locally and in distributed environments.
  • Oversee and maintain accountability for experimentation equipment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an Active Secret Clearance.
  • Must be able and willing to provide on-site support.
  • Must be a former Field Grade Officer with a minimum of 15 years of operational experience in Army Aviation.
  • Completion of CGSC/ILE is mandatory.
  • Experience leading aviation-related simulations and conducting aviation studies is essential.
  • Proficiency in MS Access, MySQL, ADAPT, and Advanced Tactical Model (ATCOM) is required.
  • Experience in technical writing for Concept documents and formal experiment reports is necessary.
  • Willingness to travel to various Army Futures Command facilities for meetings and training is required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous command experience in Army Aviation Attack or Assault Company or Battalion is highly desirable.
  • Experience with the JCIDS process and participation in Army Aviation Operational Capabilities Based Assessment (CBA) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AFSIM and AI deep learning tools is advantageous.
