Position Overview:

The Vice President – Trust Advisor leverages advisory expertise and technical proficiency to guide Private Wealth client relationships concerning not-for-profit, corporate, and personal trust and investment accounts. This role involves active participation in departmental sales initiatives and the cultivation of relationships with referral sources and influential networks.

The Trust Advisor leads trust administration and serves as a subject matter expert in financial and retirement planning, estate planning, charitable contributions, business succession strategies, and fiduciary tax planning.


Key Responsibilities:
Client Engagement:

Collaborate closely with the client team to deliver trust administration and planning services (including retirement, estate, business succession, and tax) to clients and prospects.

This is a high-level client-facing position responsible for managing, preserving, and enhancing significant individual and multi-generational family relationships.

As a subject matter expert, provide comprehensive, high-level consulting and leadership to the team.

Schedule and participate in regular client meetings to offer advice that promotes the clients' financial success.

Work diligently to maintain client relationships, particularly during volatile periods.

Administration:

Maintain a thorough understanding of trust and investment developments and issues.

Build and sustain a robust knowledge base of fiduciary standards, practices, laws, and regulations.

Utilize risk management skills and fiduciary knowledge to make informed decisions regarding account openings and closings, trust discretionary distributions, estate administration, and any fiduciary challenges that may arise.

New Business Development:

Collaborate with the team to execute strategic objectives and drive revenue growth for First Business Bank, aiming to meet individual revenue production targets annually.

Actively engage in prospect meetings, strategizing around client needs, and providing financial planning and estate plan reviews to prospects, with the goal of securing new business.

Network with attorneys, accountants, and other centers of influence (COIs), develop client referral relationships, and work closely with internal partners to expand and enhance relationships within the Private Wealth division.

Qualifications:

A post-secondary degree in a relevant field is required.

Advanced degrees (JD) or industry-specific certifications are highly desirable.

A minimum of 7 years of experience in the financial or legal sector is essential.

Certifications such as CFP, CWS, CAP, and/or CTFA are preferred.

While NASD Series 6 or 7, Series 65, and State Insurance Licenses are not mandatory, industry-specific certifications are advantageous.

Results-oriented with a strong focus on achieving and surpassing sales targets.

This role may require the ability to monitor geopolitical and economic events outside of standard office hours.

Demonstrated ability to read and analyze estate planning documents (wills, trusts, MPAs, POAs), business ownership agreements, IRA beneficiary designations, and other legal documents to provide informed service and advice to clients.

Understanding of fiduciary income tax, estate tax, and personal income tax concepts is essential.
