Job Title: Director Logistics

Verst Logistics is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Logistics to lead our warehouse operations in Walton, KY/Hebron, KY. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of warehouse operations, including office, shipping & receiving, customer relations, quality, sanitation, asset utilization, and security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct personnel to achieve prescribed operational objectives and ensure timelines are met with the highest regard for quality, safety, inventory control, and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all production functions to ensure the consistent application of principles by associates.
  • Manage controllable costs in accordance with budgeted parameters and review the monthly P&L for variances from budget.
  • Participate in budget preparation and revenue/account analyses and ensure the accurate preparation and timely distribution of reports to the VP Warehousing.
  • Develop and maintain a productive work team through proper application of management skills in the hiring, coaching, training, and disciplinary action processes.
  • Assign leadership for specific warehouse sites and ensure proper reporting processes and procedures are in place.
  • Track and provide appropriate disciplinary action and motivational techniques to employees on a timely basis.
  • Develop, implement, and direct programs and training to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment, and property and enforce safety rules and guidelines.
  • Enforce and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Establish and maintain a professional and courteous relationship with all customers.
  • Assist in ensuring the security of the facility and its employees, contents, and surroundings.
  • Implement continuous improvements in processes.
Requirements:
  • Advanced college degree preferred, but will substitute 10 years previous experience with warehouse or supply chain operations or in combination.
  • Minimum of 5 years prior experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Minimum 5 years management experience with P&L responsibility.
  • Minimum of 5 years prior supervisory experience with emphasis on leadership, supervision, motivation, communication, and planning.
  • Broad knowledge of warehousing operations and warehouse management system technology.
  • Ability to develop reliable bid proposals for warehousing space and services as needed.
  • Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Office and software applications, and accurate typing skills (25 wpm minimum).
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently with a professional, customer-friendly attitude.
