Job Overview

The Property Leasing Specialist plays a crucial role in attracting and retaining qualified residents to optimize occupancy levels within the designated community. As a key liaison with prospective tenants, you will engage with customers through various channels, including phone inquiries, website interactions, and in-person tours. Your primary objective is to establish a warm connection with potential residents while effectively showcasing the property's unique features and benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with prospective and current tenants to foster positive relationships.
  • Provide administrative support to the community office.
  • Welcome potential renters, conduct property tours, explain pricing and lease conditions, process applications, and facilitate lease renewals.
  • Prepare and finalize lease agreements while collecting necessary deposits.
  • Create promotional materials such as flyers and advertisements.
  • Address inquiries from residents promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain a polished appearance and professional demeanor at all times.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • 1-2 years of experience in leasing, marketing, or office administration.
  • Friendly and approachable personality.
  • Exceptional customer service, sales, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word; experience with Yardi is a plus.
  • Self-driven with a strong work ethic and reliable attendance.
  • Professional appearance and conduct.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance.

Preferred Skills

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations, including those with special needs.
  • Experience with Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), Project-Based Rental Assistance (PBRA), and HOME programs.
  • Familiarity with Yardi software.
  • Professional communication skills with vendors, residents, and colleagues.
  • Adaptability and capability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
  • Initiative to take on leadership responsibilities in the absence of management.
