Job Summary

As a Property Claims Specialist at Georgia Farm Bureau, you will be responsible for evaluating, handling, and adjusting assigned property or other claims from members and other claimants. You will ensure high customer satisfaction levels through professionalism, integrity, fairness, and promptness. Additionally, you will assist the PCS Manager with the development of other claims representatives, including workload management and problem-solving. You will also be responsible for maintaining satisfactory levels of productivity and claims handling cycle time. To succeed in this role, you must be able to organize and prioritize work, have knowledge of office administration procedures, and be able to operate standard office equipment. You must also pay attention to detail in composing and proofing materials, be self-motivated with initiative, and be able to make decisions and accept responsibility. A high level of confidentiality is required, and you must be flexible to respond to unexpected situations that require immediate attention.

Responsibilities

Evaluate, handle, and adjust assigned property or other claims from members and other claimants
Ensure high customer satisfaction levels through professionalism, integrity, fairness, and promptness
Assist PCS Manager with development of other claims representatives, including workload management and problem-solving
Maintain satisfactory levels of productivity and claims handling cycle time
Organize and prioritize work, have knowledge of office administration procedures, and operate standard office equipment
Pay attention to detail in composing and proofing materials, be self-motivated with initiative, and make decisions and accept responsibility
Maintain a high level of confidentiality and be flexible to respond to unexpected situations

Requirements

2+ years of college and 3+ years P&C adjusting experience or
Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years P&C adjusting experience or
7+ years Property & Casualty adjusting experience with some emphasis on Property adjusting
Farm Bureau property adjusting experience preferred
AIC, CPCU, or other insurance certification required or must be actively pursuing one
PCS must maintain a valid Georgia driver's license and maintain a driving record that meets the Underwriting standards of the Georgia Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company

Language Skills

Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret procedures, regulations, instructions, manuals, and other documents as required
Excellent telephone, public relations, and oral/written communication skills are required

Reasoning Skills

Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form

Computer Skills

The representative must possess basic skills with personal computer, experience with Windows, word processing, and internet, Xactware products experience, and other documents as required

Physical Demands/Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to occasionally operate in a normal office environment with occasional travel necessary to visit office locations, conduct investigations, attend conferences/training classes, and meetings. Extensive travel by automobile within assigned territory with some periods of normal office environment is required. The employee is required to sit, use hands to finger, handle controls, and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, lift, and move up to 30 pounds. Ability to maneuver ladders and inspect homes/property as is necessary to properly assess damages. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision.
