Job Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Sous Chef to join our culinary team at One Haus, a vibrant new French bistro in San Francisco.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in fine dining restaurants and strong knowledge of French cooking techniques. They should be able to lead and inspire a team, maintain high food quality standards, and ensure compliance with all food safety regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Executive Chef: Menu planning, ingredient selection, recipe development, and kitchen operations management.
  • Kitchen Management: Oversee day-to-day activities, ensure smooth workflow, and consistency in food preparation.
  • Team Leadership: Train, supervise, and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Food Safety and Quality: Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation, upholding the restaurant's reputation for excellence.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, assist in sourcing ingredients, manage food costs, and minimize waste.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in French or fine dining restaurants.
  • Strong knowledge of French cooking techniques and culinary traditions.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a kitchen team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional training is a plus.
