Position Overview

The Medical Affairs Coordinator plays a crucial role in the management and organization of Medical Staff activities. This position is responsible for overseeing Medical Staff meetings and coordinating special events, ensuring smooth operations within the Medical Affairs department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Budget Management: Develop and maintain the Medical Affairs budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Communication: Facilitate effective communication between Medical Staff leaders and administration, addressing any issues that arise.
  • Credentialing Support: Establish and uphold credentialing and reappointment policies, collaborating with various committees and departments.
  • Inquiry Response: Address inquiries from physician offices and hospital departments while safeguarding the confidentiality of physician records.
  • Verification Processing: Manage requests for physician credential verification from external entities.
  • Data Gathering: Assist in the collection of data for Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) and Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) to meet compliance standards.
  • Onboarding Coordination: Oversee onboarding activities for new physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APP), ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Meeting Coordination: Organize Section, Department, and Medical Staff Committee meetings, including agenda preparation and minute-taking.
  • Physician Engagement: Interact with Medical Staff to enhance physician satisfaction and organize networking events.
  • Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative assistance to the Chief Medical Officer and Medical Staff leadership as required.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with the Central Verification Office to enhance information gathering and file management processes.
  • Calendar Management: Maintain the department's calendar of meetings and events, ensuring timely communication.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Stay informed about hospital medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations.
Qualifications

Certification: Certified Notary Public upon start.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a related field.
Education: Associate Degree in a relevant discipline.
