Key Responsibilities:

  • Minimize and prevent external losses through vigilant floor surveillance and monitoring of closed-circuit camera systems. Ability to identify and detain external individuals for theft when all SCHEELS protocols are satisfied.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with local and federal law enforcement agencies.
  • Mitigate internal losses through effective floor surveillance, closed-circuit camera monitoring, and thorough auditing of various exception reports.
  • Conduct successful non-confrontational interviews with both external and internal patrons.
  • Support the leadership team in upholding all company policies and procedures.
  • Foster a safe working and shopping environment by performing regular safety evaluations.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills by collecting data and establishing facts through proper investigations.
  • Efficiently complete various tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor in both appearance and attitude.
  • Be available to work assigned schedules, which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Work Schedule:

This is a part-time role typically requiring 15-25 hours per week. Availability for at least two weeknights (with the most common shift being 5pm-9:30pm) and half of the Saturdays and Sundays each month is essential.

Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Physical Requirements:

Must be capable of sitting, standing, bending, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, pushing/pulling, lifting, talking, and hearing with or without reasonable accommodation.

This role involves light work, requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands exceed those of sedentary work.
