Position Overview:
The Neuroendovascular Invasive Specialist I (NEIS I) is a vital role within the Neuroscience Service Line, reporting directly to the Operations Coordinator and Nurse Manager. This position operates under limited supervision, assisting physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of neuroendovascular diseases through invasive procedures, focusing on the care of patients undergoing both basic diagnostic and interventional techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Participate in time-out procedures while utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment.
2. Conduct patient safety checklists prior to procedures.
3. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of organizational policies and procedures.
4. Anticipate the needs of physicians by ensuring that necessary supplies and equipment are readily available within the procedure suite.
5. Engage in performance improvement and research activities aimed at enhancing patient care and organizational processes.
6. Provide constructive recommendations to improve patient care and contribute to overall unit functions.
7. Assist in educating staff, students, and team members in patient care procedures, as well as orienting and training new personnel.
8. Perform routine diagnostic radiographs and minor interventional procedures under the supervision of a radiologist or licensed fluoroscopic supervisor, while more complex procedures are handled by Radiologic Technologists III.

Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program is required, along with a minimum of one year of experience in neuroendovascular invasive technology. A copy of the academic degree or transcript is necessary. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is mandatory. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required, either from the American Heart Association (AHA) for Healthcare Providers or an equivalent certification from the American Red Cross.
