This position is accountable for the strategic direction of the organization’s billing and collections framework, collaborating closely with operational teams to facilitate an enterprise-wide integration of our Salesforce and NetSuite systems, along with driving process enhancements. This is a hands-on managerial role that is both prominent and necessitates the candidate to actively engage in assisting the team to meet their objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a results-driven mindset and be a highly systematic individual capable of scaling and leading a top-tier team. This includes exceptional leadership skills, proven collaboration with business partners, and outstanding communication abilities to effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders both within and outside of the finance sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the integration of billing and collections systems, collaborating with consultants and internal stakeholders to evaluate existing systems and processes, gather and document business requirements, advise on and manage implementation timelines, and ensure robust communication and coordination of needs and deliverables.
  • Oversee the complete billing process, ensuring precision, compliance, and efficiency in all billing operations.
  • Utilize Salesforce and NetSuite for managing customer accounts, invoicing, and financial reporting, ensuring seamless integration and functionality between these platforms.
  • Establish pertinent key performance indicators (KPIs) for the billing and collections teams, ensuring delivery and continuous enhancements.
  • Apply knowledge of revenue recognition standards, such as ASC 606, to ensure that billing and collection processes adhere to relevant accounting principles.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and payments to ensure accuracy and participate in the month-end closing process.
  • Address and resolve billing inquiries and disputes from customers in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Manage escalations and operate in a player-coach capacity as necessary.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to optimize the billing workflow, minimize errors, and enhance efficiency.
  • Coach, train, and develop team members while managing workflow and project prioritization to ensure timely execution and completion.
  • Adopt a positive approach to change with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.
  • Communicate with Operations to inform and educate on processes, systems, and accounting policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in billing and collections.
  • Experience with international billing and collections operations across North and Latin America, Europe, and Asia, along with managing teams in these regions.
  • Proficiency in NetSuite (mandatory) and Salesforce (highly desirable).
  • Experience in leading a team.
  • Strong work ethic, urgency, accountability, and integrity.
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and adaptable.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.
  • Location: Eastern Time Zone North America.
