Position Overview:

This role involves supporting a significant highway initiative.

The Project Engineer will oversee all routine project management tasks on-site, including scheduling and engineering responsibilities. This includes planning, coordinating, and managing construction engineering activities while maintaining effective communication with subcontractors. The engineer will also prepare monthly payment estimates and update the Project Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule. Additionally, the role includes preparing, coordinating, and updating project budgets, change orders, and cost reports for review and approval by the Project and District Managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and validate subcontractor and owner payment estimates before management approval.
  • Oversee cost report management, project CPM management, and facilitate regular review meetings.
  • Manage the project document control system efficiently.
  • Proactively identify issues and collaborate on developing effective solutions.
  • Compile all necessary information for presentations during project reviews.
  • Conduct procurement and buyout services as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Prior experience in Heavy/Highway projects valued over $20 million is essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in specialized infrastructure construction.
  • Familiarity with transportation-related electrical systems, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), traffic signals, and signage is preferred.
  • Experience with JDEdwards software is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
