Key Responsibilities

Electrical Systems Project Engineer

The Electrical Systems Project Engineer will report to the Engineering Team Leader. This role is essential in delivering technical engineering solutions and project oversight to facilitate the operational, maintenance, and administrative departments in achieving their strategic objectives.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the electrical and control aspects of process enhancement, capital growth, and obsolescence management projects.
  • Managing all stages of assigned projects from initial concept, scope definition, specification writing, bid solicitation, and related meetings, to engineering/design, manufacturing, installation, and final project acceptance.
  • Providing engineering support to production and maintenance teams for various equipment and process challenges, with a strong focus on enhancing system reliability and productivity through specialized automation technology expertise.
  • Delivering advanced support for all PLC, HMI, and robotic systems, including programming for PLC/SCADA/Database systems.
  • Maintaining comprehensive records for all automation programs and modifications.
  • Identifying and implementing enhancements to existing automation systems and processes.
  • Ensuring the safety of facility equipment and processes, including adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies.
  • Supervising contractor activities to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent sitting, standing, and reaching, with the ability to manipulate objects using hands and fingers.
  • Regular communication through speaking and listening.
  • Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and working at various heights.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally, and regularly lift/move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision capabilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • This position may require occasional travel, necessitating work in diverse environments.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with electrical systems, including power distribution, PLCs, HMIs, and database systems.
  • Experience in project management within a collaborative environment.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems.
  • Proficiency in programming Allen Bradley/ControlLogix/Modicon PLC systems.
  • Experience with Wonderware, SQL, and touchscreen HMI/SCADA systems.
  • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, and other relevant electrical safety regulations.
  • Ability to utilize ACAD/Inventor software.
