Job Summary

As a Radiology Technologist in our Orthopedics department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients. Your expertise will be essential in operating radiologic equipment, positioning patients, and ensuring the accuracy of diagnostic x-ray films.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic x-ray films as directed by care providers.
  • Position patients and adjust equipment for taking x-rays, following established procedures and safety standards.
  • Instruct patients regarding procedures and ensure their comfort and safety throughout the imaging process.
  • Examine radiologic film for properties such as density and contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion.
  • Develop and process radiologic film to ensure accurate and high-quality images.
  • Deliver film to requesters for reading and interpretation.
  • Maintain the x-ray exam room, including stocking necessary medical and radiological supplies, cleaning equipment, and performing minor adjustments.
  • Responsible for routine maintenance and vendor notification of equipment failures.
  • Disseminate x-ray reports and x-rays, maintaining a location log.
  • Schedule radiologic exams to be performed at outside labs, as necessary.
  • Gather and prepare x-rays with physician interpretation for radiologist over-read.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree: Completion of an accredited radiology program.
  • Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses: SCRQSA license, RSQA - RAD QUALITY STANDARD, American Registry for Radiology Technologists (ARRT) certification for Radiology.
  • New graduates must obtain and submit a Permanent SCRQSA license within 30 days of passing the ARRT registry.
  • In lieu of the accredited radiology program, completion of the diploma program through AnMed Health is acceptable.
  • Additionally, any education considered grandfathered by the American Registry for Radiology Technologists is also acceptable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of physician practice experience.
