Position Overview
The Radiologic Imaging Specialist operates under the guidance of the Radiology Supervisor and collaborates with radiologists to produce high-quality radiologic images. These images are crucial for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning for patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize X-ray and fluoroscopy equipment to capture radiologic images.
- Demonstrate proficiency in providing care tailored to diverse patient demographics, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
- Implement radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
- Assess and adjust exposure factors to optimize imaging quality while minimizing radiation exposure.
- Review images for technical accuracy and quality assurance.
- Exercise sound judgment in performing imaging procedures.
- Deliver essential patient care throughout the imaging process.
- Recognize and respond to emergency situations with appropriate first aid measures.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- Valid South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association license.
- Current CPR certification.
