Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the maintenance and management of mouse colonies through selective breeding and genotyping.
- Conduct mouse surgeries relevant to cardiovascular research.
- Perform plasmid and adenovirus amplification, along with tissue cutting and histological analysis.
- Execute western blotting, gel analysis, and database updates.
- Collaborate with a team of scientists on various mouse experiments that have human relevance.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Master's degree in a relevant field such as biology, biochemistry, or cell biology, along with two years of research experience. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five years of research or clinical experience is acceptable.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in cell culture, histology, molecular biology, and animal surgery is highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Candidates must demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with research databases is essential.
Work Schedule:
This position requires a commitment to a Monday through Friday schedule, with potential for extended hours as needed.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary will be commensurate with experience, starting at a minimum of $48,800 annually. Full-time employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
