Job Summary

Trenton Systems is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Assembly Technician III to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assembling and testing computer systems, sub-assemblies, and parts using assembly drawings, pictures, procedures, and verbal instruction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assembly and Testing: Assemble and test computer systems, sub-assemblies, and parts using assembly drawings, pictures, procedures, and verbal instruction.
  • Design for Manufacturability: Devise design for manufacturability documentation, create procedures, and write work instructions on new products and engineering prototypes.
  • Liaison and Training: Liaise with manufacturing build teams on pilot and production builds, train manufacturing personnel on new products and processes, and design manufacturing cells and assembly processes for new and existing products.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform functional tests on assemblies per drawings and procedures, make recommendations for changes, and update procedures as needed.
  • Facilities and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work environment and assist with root cause analysis to identify corrective actions for products and production systems.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Education: Technical school diploma in mechanical electronics or mechanical assembly.
  • Experience: 8-10 years' electrical/mechanical assembly experience, technical writing experience, and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Skills: Understanding of MRP systems and processes, use of electronic and pneumatic assembly tools, measuring devices, and six sigma - lean training or exposure.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Technical school degree or associate degree in mechanical engineering, 10-15 years' electrical/mechanical assembly and test experience, technical writing experience, CAD design - mechanical engineering, and green belt six sigma.
