The Safety and Security Department at our Sarah Neuman location is seeking a part-time Security Officer to join our team. This role will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our residents, staff, and visitors. Key responsibilities include:

  • **Greeting and Welcoming**: Greet all residents, staff, and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.
  • **Monitoring Activities**: Monitor activities of visitors, staff, and residents to ensure compliance with facility rules and regulations.
  • **Building Rounds and Inspections**: Perform regular building rounds and inspections to identify potential safety hazards and take corrective action.
  • **Incident Reporting**: Investigate incidents and accidents, and document same in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
  • **Shift Coverage**: Provide shift coverage as required to maintain a full complement of staff, including mandated shift coverage.

Requirements for this role include:

  • **Valid Driver's License**: Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • **High School Diploma or Equivalent**: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • **NY State Security Guard Certification**: Valid NY State Security Guard Certification required.
  • **16 Hour OTJ Certificate**: Possession of a 16 hour OTJ certificate.
  • **Previous Security Experience**: Previous military, criminal justice, law enforcement, or security experience preferred.
