Job Title: County Nurse

Delaware County, PA is seeking a skilled County Nurse to provide professional nursing services and support health and wellness initiatives for County employees.

Job Summary

The County Nurse will be responsible for providing first aid, basic life support measures, and medical information to employees and visitors. They will also monitor blood pressure readings and weight, provide medical attention to employees and visitors, and respond to emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide first aid and basic life support measures to employees and visitors
  • Monitor blood pressure readings and weight for interested individuals
  • Provide medical attention to employees and visitors who become ill or injured
  • Respond to emergency situations and evaluate and treat employees and visitors
  • Assist in investigating reports of health hazards and report conditions to appropriate personnel
  • Maintain a daily log of visitors to the Health Services Office
  • Evaluate and document employee Worker's Compensation injuries and fill out Incident Reports
  • Make reports of injuries to the Personnel Department
  • Assist with annual employee influenza vaccination program
  • Serve on the Wellness Committee and coordinate health initiatives
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing
  • Experience in the Community or Public Health field
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to prepare and maintain good nursing records and reports
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and handle confidential matters
