Job Title: Dialysis Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team at Mat-Su Dialysis as a Dialysis Patient Care Technician.

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for providing patient care and support during dialysis treatment, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care: Cares for and monitors patients before, during, and post-dialysis treatment.
  • Equipment Preparation: Prepares the dialysis machine and its components for treatment.
  • Patient Monitoring: Transports patients, records patient vital signs, and ensures a safe environment.
  • Education and Support: Explains the dialysis procedure and equipment operation to patients, alleviating anxieties.
  • Area Inspection: Inspects and cleans the area of access (fistula, graft, or catheter).
  • Equipment Inspection: Inspects equipment settings, including pressures, conductivity, and temperature, to ensure conformance to safety standards.
  • Treatment Start: Starts patient treatment according to physician order.
  • Monitoring and Assistance: Monitors patients for adverse reactions and hemodialysis machine for malfunction, providing assistance as needed.
  • Inventory and Supply Management: Assists in inventory and supply stocking in the dialysis clinic.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 months of dialysis, phlebotomy, or CNA/PCA experience preferred.
  • Certifications: CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Color Vision: Ability to distinguish primary colors.
  • Training and Certification: Successful completion of our dialysis training program, including demonstrated competency, within 12 weeks of hire.
  • Language and Communication: Demonstrated working knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills, with proficiency in all clinical applications required within 90 days of hire.
  • Time Management and Problem-Solving: Ability to organize time and tasks well, utilizing problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion, with strong interpersonal skills necessary to work with patients, staff, and other individuals.
