Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Technician to join our team at Live Oak Wellness Center. As a key member of our recovery team, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients in their journey towards recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Observe and monitor client behavior, intervening as necessary to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
  • Conduct UA drug screen collections, following established procedures.
  • Supervise self-administration of client medications, ensuring accurate dosing and adherence to treatment plans.
  • Facilitate assigned groups, meetings, and activities, documenting observations and milieu interventions in client records.
  • Coordinate milieu treatment with counseling staff, ensuring a cohesive and effective treatment approach.
  • Assist with daily activities, including waking clients, chore supervision, meal service, and laundry.
  • Transport clients to appointments, hospital visits, and other scheduled events.
  • Ensure client telephones are available during designated hours.
  • Conduct regular house checks, fire drills, and disaster drills to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Complete new client admission paperwork and conduct orientations, including person and baggage searches.
  • Provide one-on-one supervision of at-risk clients, following established protocols.
  • Facilitate assigned aftercare groups and conduct house checks.
  • Complete filing and other administrative tasks as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • Minimum one year of training or experience in addiction or a related behavioral health field.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a recovery team, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to assess client needs and interpret information.
  • Knowledge of addiction and recovery principles, with ability to provide accurate information and support.
  • Current CPR and First Aid training, with ability to maintain certification.
  • Valid unrestricted state driver's license.
Work Environment

Work is performed in a residential setting, with a focus on providing a safe and supportive environment for clients. The physical demands of the job include standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Mental/visual strain may be associated with frequent interventions and negotiations with clients and their family members.
