About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Architect to join our Data and Analytics Architecture team at The Travelers Indemnity Company. As a key member of our Enterprise Architecture and Emerging Technology organization, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our data and analytics capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement architecture solutions for our Enterprise Data & Analytics business unit
  • Participate in technology proof of concepts to ensure feasibility of architecture solutions
  • Collaborate with Software Engineering to execute proof of technologies
  • Provide architecture direction for engineers in support of a technical pattern
  • Drive continuous technology transformation to minimize technical debt
  • Partner with Software Engineering to create a partnership
  • Look for opportunities to capitalize on technology advances through analysis of key industry and technology trends
  • Participate in defining target state technology architecture and roadmaps
  • Ensure alignment of IT initiatives with the target state
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent with 4+ years of technology engineering experience
  • Organizational experience in an agile operating model
  • Established work in proof of concepts and technology
  • Strong proven software engineering experience
  • Supports technology target state, roadmaps that aligned to short- and long-term business goals
  • Insurance technology experience desired
  • Strong grasp of value creation and business capability models
  • Innovation and continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience in build strategies, roadmaps, and solution architecture in the last 3 years
  • Strong experience architecting big data solutions using data lake, data warehouse, and data products
  • Champion of data technologies in areas of data integration, business intelligence, and AI/ML
  • Expertise in architecting and developing solutions in AWS, Snowflake, and Databricks
  • Experience in AWS components including Lambda, Kinesis/Firehose, Airflow, Glue, Spark, EC2, SageMaker, S3, NoSQL database, and API Gateway
  • Experience in data streaming technologies
  • Experience with NoSQL and GraphQL technologies
  • Experience in data modeling, governance, and data management
  • Experience with specific DevOps and MLOps practices
  • Cloud architecture certification (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or strong architecture experience on cloud
