Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with technology and business leaders to define target state architecture and forge a path to success through emerging technologies.
  • Communicate a clear architecture vision that aligns engineering and architecture leadership and guides delivery teams in building Travelers' next-generation engineering platform.
  • Inspire high-performing engineers and architects to achieve excellence through coaching, mentoring, and empowerment.
  • Apply broad DevOps and software architecture experience to support a growing engineering community.
  • Bring creativity and innovative thinking to a team building world-class engineering experiences on AWS, leveraging event-driven architecture, DevOps best practices, API-first design patterns, vulnerability management, EKS, IAC, IAM, ML, and Gen AI.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent with 5+ years of technology architecture leadership experience.
  • Proven track record of providing mentorship to architects and engineers.
  • Organizational and transformational experience in an agile operating model.
  • Experience defining strategic technology direction and architecture vision for an organization.
  • Strong grasp of value creation and business capability models.
  • Innovative mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Hands-on technical experience building test-driven solutions within the last 3 years.
  • Executed technology modernization initiatives, including migration to cloud-native, API strategy, and event-driven architectures.
  • Cloud architecture certification (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or strong architecture experience on cloud.
  • Good understanding of security.
  • Experienced with large-scale technology platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with data technologies on cloud.
