Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Assistant to join our Labor and Delivery team at St. Luke's Hospital. As a Patient Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care and support to patients in the Labor and Delivery unit
  • Collect and record vital signs, intake and output measurements, and other relevant data
  • Perform EKGs, glucometry, phlebotomy, and specimen collection as assigned
  • Document patient information and follow treatment plans as directed by licensed personnel
  • Ensure patient comfort and satisfaction with service
  • Perform patient mobilization using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
  • Communicate changes in patients' conditions and unit concerns with the team
  • Restock unit supplies and perform equipment checks and maintenance duties
  • Participate in unit-based performance improvement and maintain awareness of unit budget
  • Assist in orienting and educating new staff
Requirements
  • High School graduate or GED preferred
  • Health care specialty training preferred
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Obtain BLS certification within sixty (60) days of employment
Work Schedule

This is a part-time position, working 20 hours per week, nights.
