We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Assistant to join our Labor and Delivery team at St. Luke's Hospital. As a Patient Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care and support to patients in the Labor and Delivery unit
- Collect and record vital signs, intake and output measurements, and other relevant data
- Perform EKGs, glucometry, phlebotomy, and specimen collection as assigned
- Document patient information and follow treatment plans as directed by licensed personnel
- Ensure patient comfort and satisfaction with service
- Perform patient mobilization using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Communicate changes in patients' conditions and unit concerns with the team
- Restock unit supplies and perform equipment checks and maintenance duties
- Participate in unit-based performance improvement and maintain awareness of unit budget
- Assist in orienting and educating new staff
- High School graduate or GED preferred
- Health care specialty training preferred
- Basic computer skills required
- Obtain BLS certification within sixty (60) days of employment
This is a part-time position, working 20 hours per week, nights.
