This senior-level position is integral to the Front-to-Back review team, tasked with evaluating and validating the sourcing, calculations, aggregation, and reporting of Credit Risk Risk Weighted Assets (RWA) components in alignment with Basel regulations across various exposure types. The team is accountable for RWA analysis at both Citigroup and CBNA levels, focusing on Advanced and Standardized approaches. Key responsibilities include:
  • Assessing computational methodologies for RWA determination, including assumptions, interpretations, and models utilized.
  • Ensuring precise implementation of methodologies and controls within Citi's operational framework.
  • Validating that models meet Basel requirements and are accurately executed.
  • Reviewing Business and Functional requirements, including conducting comprehensive data validation against regulatory capital standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing quality control and audit activities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Independently evaluating and challenging existing processes and controls to identify critical risks and issues.
  • Possessing a robust understanding of Advanced and Standardized US Basel regulatory capital rules or extensive capital markets product knowledge.
  • Implementing best practices and controls for regulatory capital processes based on industry standards.
  • Collaborating with various systems and data sources to gather necessary evidence for formal reviews and documentation of findings.
  • Exhibiting exceptional oral and written communication skills, capable of simplifying complex concepts for diverse audiences, including senior management and regulators.
  • Demonstrating advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to utilize Access or other database query applications effectively.
  • Engaging regularly with peers within the Controllers group and other departments, such as Technology.
Qualifications:
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in the financial services sector is highly preferred.
  • A comprehensive understanding of multiple functional areas and their interactions is essential for achieving departmental objectives.
  • Strong communication and diplomatic skills are required to guide and influence stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment.
  • Self-driven with the capability to make informed decisions without detailed instructions.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of banking products and systems is highly preferred.
  • CPA designation is preferred.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree, with a Master's degree being a potential advantage.
