Vice President of Operations – Leading Food & Beverage Manufacturing Company

Key Qualifications for the Vice President of Operations:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of experience in plant operations, with a solid understanding of manufacturing and packaging principles, including budgeting, strategic planning, and resource allocation.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and industry protocols.
  • Familiarity with standard equipment and technical processes within the industry.
  • Ability to lead root cause analysis investigations effectively.
  • Skilled in training and explaining processes to operational staff.
  • Proficient in equipment operation and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with MRP systems such as Microsoft NAV, Just Foods, SAP, or similar ERP software is preferred.

Responsibilities of the Vice President of Operations:

  • Strategic Leadership: Formulate and implement operational strategies that align with the company's goals, providing clear direction and focus for all departments.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage daily operations to exceed customer expectations, enhancing production capacity and flexibility while minimizing costs and maintaining high quality.
  • Performance Management: Ensure accountability for production output, quality, and timely delivery by setting clear performance metrics.
  • Resource Allocation: Optimize resource allocation and asset utilization to drive operational excellence and enhance financial performance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and pursue opportunities for process enhancements by analyzing operational data to eliminate waste and reduce overtime.
  • Team Development: Create a collaborative and trustworthy work environment, focusing on recruiting, managing, and developing a high-performing operations team.
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure compliance with USDA regulations, SQF3 standards, and all food safety protocols.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Design and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs to ensure operational reliability and efficiency.
  • Performance Tracking: Develop systems to monitor productivity and performance metrics, ensuring effective asset management.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work collaboratively with other departments to support integrated operations and drive overall organizational success.
