Job Summary:The Operating Room First Assistant will serve as the primary assistant to the surgeon during surgery, preparing and using surgical equipment and instruments, cutting and handling tissue, controlling bleeding, monitoring patient status, and bandaging wounds. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:- Assist the surgeon during surgery, preparing and using surgical equipment and instruments
- Prepare and handle tissue, control bleeding, and monitor patient status
- Bandage wounds and provide post-operative care
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth and efficient surgical procedures
- At least 1 year of recent acute care experience in specialty
- Strong clinical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
