Job Description: Dental Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare treatment rooms for procedures, ensuring they are stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Confirm patient details and explain upcoming procedures clearly and concisely.
  • Assist patients in feeling comfortable and provide them with instructions regarding their dental care.
  • Take high-quality dental radiographs (x-rays) according to established protocols.
  • Provide essential support to the dentist during procedures, including suctioning, instrument handling, and retrieving supplies.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the maintenance of dental fixtures.
  • Maintain a sterile environment by meticulously sterilizing dental instruments and equipment according to regulatory guidelines.
  • Contribute to dental laboratory tasks such as pouring models, preparing them for shipment, and other related duties.
  • Manage patient records accurately, including vital signs, pre-medication information, and other relevant details.
  • Collaborate with the front desk staff to assist patients in scheduling their next appointments.
  • Relay doctor's instructions to the front desk regarding referrals, medical clearances, and other pertinent information.
Skills:
  • Comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations within a dental setting.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to established procedural workflows.
  • Proven ability to perform all duties associated with a Dental Assistant role effectively.
  • Knowledge of various dental instruments and sterilization techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive patient interactions.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities.
  • Completion of a Dental Assistant program is preferred.
