The primary responsibility of the Student Financial Assistance Coordinator is to generate reports and identify students requiring error resolution, adhering to established guidelines, policies, and regulations. This role primarily emphasizes processing tasks with limited direct interaction with students. The Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Financial Aid.

Key Responsibilities

  • Examine Programs of Study for Load Status reports and address discrepancies.
  • Generate Cost of Attendance Reaction Review reports and rectify issues.
  • Produce Need Packaging Reaction Review reports and resolve identified problems.
  • Compile Inactive Periods reports and identify students for necessary cleanup.
  • Prepare anticipated disbursement reports and determine students needing resolution.
  • Assist with SAP appeal processing and facilitate student progression through business processes.
  • Review name discrepancies on student accounts and implement appropriate corrections.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance and cleanup of historical student accounts.
  • Support in identifying duplicate accounts and provide suitable resolutions.
  • Assist with residency evaluations and make necessary adjustments to student accounts.
  • Offer backup assistance to fellow team members.
  • Maintain regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance, fostering collegial and harmonious working relationships.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Compensation: $38,585 annually

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Familiarity with the organization and administration of various higher education academic and social programs.

Understanding of campus and community resources.

Knowledge of state, federal, and institutional regulations related to academic and social programs.

Ability to coordinate activities of campus academic and/or social programs.

Capability to assess collected information and formulate recommendations.

Proficiency in compiling information into report format.

Education and Experience

A formal education equivalent to a bachelor's degree in general business or a related field, along with one year of experience in student financial aid or a related area.

Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements.
