The Per Diem RN - Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/BMT position requires current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Oregon. BMT/Cellular Therapy experience is required, with a focus on 3s/4s. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemotherapy administration, bone marrow transplant infusion, and moderate sedation for procedures such as bone marrow aspiration and lumbar puncture.
Education and TrainingCandidates must have a strong foundation in pediatric hematology/oncology/bone marrow transplantation, with a focus on patient diagnosis, treatment, and care. AHA BLS and PALS certifications are required, with a preference for CPHON and BMTCN certifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Epic charting systems and be proficient in scrubbing for procedures.
Work Schedule and OrientationThe Per Diem RN - Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/BMT position offers a rolling start date, with a maximum of 2 candidates per orientation. Orientations will be held every other Monday and Inpatient EPIC on Tuesday, with a 1 12-hour floor orientation based on candidate availability. The facility expects RNs to pick up shifts immediately following orientation completion.
Unit Specific InformationThe Per Diem RN - Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/BMT position will work on the chemotherapy administration unit, with opportunities to work on other units as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of chemotherapy administration, bone marrow transplant infusion, and moderate sedation for procedures such as bone marrow aspiration and lumbar puncture.
Additional RequirementsCandidates must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on patient care and safety. A COVID-19 vaccination is strongly recommended, with declination forms available for those who decline. Candidates who decline COVID-19 vaccination are required to wear a surgical or procedure mask for all patient encounters.
