Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

Join UNC Health Care as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound exams, working closely with radiologists, and assisting in the training of resident physicians, fellows, and students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams, including abdominal, small parts, OB/GYN, breast, abdominal duplex, musculoskeletal, CEUS, and pediatric sonography.
  • Comply with departmental protocols under indirect supervision of the attending radiologist and departmental supervisor.
  • Properly operate and care for equipment, provide quality care to patients, and utilize electronic medical records and reporting systems.
  • Work closely with radiologists to assist in training of resident physicians, fellows, and students assigned to the area.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a twelve (12) month program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or General Ultrasound.
  • RDMS registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or registry eligible and become registered within one (1) year from date of hire.
