Key Responsibilities

Organizational Leadership
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team, aiding in the comprehension of how strategic decisions influence the financial health and sustainability of the organization.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to ensure the organization meets its short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Engage with the Board of Directors, providing timely and precise financial insights.
  • Support school leadership and staff, fostering a culture centered on exceptional service.
Financial Oversight
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, creating user-friendly tools and templates.
  • Conduct regular meetings with leadership to analyze financial data and enhance their financial literacy.
  • Maintain comprehensive financial models for annual and multi-year planning, conducting scenario analyses to guide decision-making.
  • Manage cash flow and devise strategies to ensure a robust financial position.
  • Generate and disseminate timely, accurate, and insightful financial reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee compliance with grants and regulations from federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Direct the planning and execution of efficient business processes and financial systems.
Accounting Management
  • Supervise all accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage financing for facilities, capital improvement budgets, and debt obligations.
  • Oversee payroll processes, including reporting, documentation, and procedural updates.
  • Ensure successful completion of annual financial audits.
  • Establish robust financial controls to comply with all relevant laws.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation for accounting policies and procedures.
Procurement and Risk Management
  • Oversee the procurement of goods and services, including contract negotiation and vendor management.
  • Enhance procurement policies and processes, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
  • Manage insurance coverage and provide guidance on risk management and crisis preparedness.
Team Leadership
  • Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, management, and evaluation of finance and accounting personnel.
  • Serve as a role model in leadership and management, fostering the development of finance and accounting staff.
  • Incorporate a strong customer service ethos into all finance and accounting operations.
Qualifications

Successful candidates will demonstrate a firm belief in the potential for all students to achieve academic excellence, regardless of their backgrounds. Additionally, strong candidates will possess:
  • A Bachelor's degree is required; CPA designation is preferred.
  • Over ten years of progressive experience in finance and accounting; experience in non-profit finance is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage financial systems and processes.
  • Strong financial management skills, with demonstrated expertise in budgeting, financial analysis, and modeling.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience in leading change management initiatives successfully.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment, managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
