Job Overview

WellLife Network is seeking a highly skilled Medical Services Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of medical care for individuals residing in our programs.

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual who can effectively coordinate medical services, develop professional relationships with healthcare providers, and ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations.

About You

You have a strong background in nursing and excellent communication skills. You are able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives. Your attention to detail and organizational skills ensure that all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate medical pre-admission evaluations and screening of prospective clients.
  2. Review and update persons with disabilities pre-admission evaluation within thirty days of placement.
  3. Review monthly the medication record of each resident for potential adverse reactions, allergies, interactions, contraindications, rationality, and laboratory test modifications; advise the physician of any medication errors and indicated changes.
  4. Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences.
  5. Participate in the control of communicable diseases and infections through identification and implementation of appropriate protective and preventive measures.
  6. Ensure correction of deficiencies in the nursing area cited during inspections.
  7. Administer TB tests.
  8. Train staff in all areas relating to the medical and physical health of individuals residing in WellLife programs.
  9. Provide health and hygiene education to residents on a regularly scheduled basis.
  10. Involvement in scheduling and transporting clients to medical appointments along with Client Coordinator.
  11. Act as a medical resource person for Residence Manager and staff to ensure proper medical care and follow-through on medical issues.

Requirements

  • Current NYS license and currently registered by NYS Department of Education
  • Specialized training or one year of experience in treating and developmentally disabled
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Compensation

$65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience
