Job Overview

The Senior Construction Supervisor is responsible for managing the construction of designated residential projects, working under the guidance of the Area Construction Manager. This role involves the daily oversight of all on-site activities related to the construction timeline, supervising field personnel to ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion. The Supervisor is the primary liaison for customers throughout the construction journey, ensuring adherence to the company's mission and delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate all construction processes to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with established plans and standards.
  • Provide accurate and timely updates to customers on a weekly basis regarding project status.
  • Maintain an effective construction schedule, proactively identifying and resolving issues that could impact timely delivery.
  • Keep the Area Construction Manager and relevant stakeholders informed about production progress and any challenges that may arise.
  • Manage all customer interactions as outlined in the company's operational guidelines.
  • Ensure the job site, including the construction office, is organized and well-maintained.
  • Enforce safety protocols among trade partners and company personnel.
  • Facilitate communication between Sales, Closing Coordinators, Design Studio, and Purchasing as necessary.
  • Earn the respect of customers and vendors through consistent fulfillment of commitments.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and patience in challenging situations.
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with colleagues, clients, and vendors.
  • Approach unexpected challenges with confidence and resourcefulness.
  • Accurately order necessary materials for construction.
  • Direct all trades to ensure timely completion of tasks in line with project specifications.
  • Understand inspection requirements and prepare homes accordingly.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to manage 10-14 homes of medium to high complexity, or 15-18 Innovation homes based on community specifications.
  • Proven track record of delivering homes on time and within budget.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Experience with production homebuilding scheduling.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and scopes of work fluently.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required; a 4-year degree in Business, Engineering, or Construction Management is preferred.
