Role Responsibilities

The Proposal Writer will be responsible for crafting and coordinating proposals and estimates under the guidance of the Director of Proposals. This role is perfect for a proactive individual who thrives in an independent work environment and can manage multiple proposals through regular interactions with clients and technical team leaders. As a Proposal Writer, you will be a key player in SOCOTEC's success, serving as the initial point of contact for our clients and determining the services they require.

  • Engage in daily team meetings to discuss proposal priorities and progress.
  • Analyze assigned proposal requests, evaluate requirements, and identify the appropriate team leaders to provide input on proposal scope and pricing.
  • Create technical proposals utilizing existing templates and develop corresponding estimates for effort and costs.
  • Conduct necessary research, gather information, and participate in meetings pertinent to specific proposals.
  • Review proposals and estimates with technical team leaders and make updates based on their feedback.
  • Collaborate with internal Marketing, Legal, and Finance teams to assemble comprehensive proposal packages.
  • Work alongside fellow proposal writers to ensure proposal language is clear, accurate, and free of errors.
  • Reach out to clients or prospects to gather additional information needed for proposal development and confirm receipt of proposals.
  • Maintain and manage client and project data within our CRM platform.
  • Coordinate with the Proposal Manager to develop and refine template language based on client requirements.
Candidate Profile

Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • Outstanding analytical, creative problem-solving, and written communication skills.
  • The ability to remain composed under tight deadlines while managing multiple proposals simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen focus on accuracy and detail.
  • A Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in proposal writing and estimating, ideally within an architecture, engineering, marketing, or consulting environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe InDesign) is a plus.
  • Experience with Deltek Vision is advantageous.
