Job Summary

This position serves as a Residency Program Physician in Family Practice at the Defense Health Agency. The selected candidate will provide a full scope of family practice services for patients with acute and chronic illnesses.

Responsibilities

As a Residency Program Physician in Family Practice, you will be responsible for:
  1. Providing primary care services to infants, pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients with acute and chronic illnesses.
  2. Ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests, and instituting proper treatment to patients.
  3. Referring patients to specialty clinics or consulting to admit patients to the hospital when necessary.
  4. Supporting the education and training of Family Practice residents and medical students.
  5. Providing technical oversight of resident and Government Service Civilian and contract Health Care Provider work.
  6. Serving as a consultant to the clinical staff, directing them relative to diagnoses, therapy, or disposition of patients with various medical problems.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Board Eligible/Certified in Family Medicine is also required.
