POSITION SUMMARY

Contribute to our success as a vital member of our Facilities Maintenance team in the role of Maintenance Technician.

The primary responsibility of a Maintenance Technician involves the installation, upkeep, and repair of machinery, equipment, physical structures, and electrical and plumbing systems in commercial or industrial settings, adhering to specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic diagrams, utilizing hand tools, power tools, hoists, cranes, and measuring and testing instruments.

Key Responsibilities of a Facilities Maintenance Technician include:

  • Diagnosing malfunctions; conducting routine, periodic, or special inspections to identify necessary repair and maintenance work to avert breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.
  • Performing routine, periodic, or special inspections to ascertain repair and maintenance requirements to prevent facility, machinery, and equipment failures.
  • Dismantling defective machines and equipment and installing new or repaired components, following specifications and blueprints, using precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
  • Minimizing downtime by informing production personnel of routine preventive maintenance practices; ensuring compliance.
  • Discussing safety, productivity, major repairs, and procedures during meetings with colleagues, supervisors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinating with external contractors for specialized processes as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in the facilities/maintenance field (aerospace experience preferred but not essential) in HVAC, coordinating equipment/process maintenance activities, preventive maintenance programs, contractor management, site security, emergency systems, lean manufacturing, and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Engaging with suppliers and contractors, e.g., discussing equipment specifications, delivery timelines, and pricing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Must possess a keen attention to detail and precision, as the role demands adherence to specifications with minimal margin for error.
  • Experience with 480V electrical systems is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with vacuum systems and vacuum furnaces is preferred.
  • Experience with hydraulic presses and equipment is preferred.
