Job Description

Penn State University's Center for Business Development and Community Outreach is seeking part-time Youth Program Instructors to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for creative educators who are enthusiastic and have a desire to teach children ages 6-16 to increase their interest and knowledge in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM). Instructors will work with our staff to develop curriculum and monitor the program, as well as supervise camp counselors.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging STEAM-based curriculum for children ages 6-16
  • Work with our staff to monitor program progress and make adjustments as needed
  • Supervise and mentor camp counselors to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Participate in Mandated Reporter Training and complete background checks as required
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g. education, STEM, arts)
  • Experience as an educator, preferably in a camp or youth program setting
  • Camp teaching experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • FBI Criminal Background Check
