RN - Part-Time Night Shift Mental Health Unit

Job Summary:
Geisinger Health System is seeking a Part-Time RN for our Mental Health Unit. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team and make a difference in the lives of our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Provide direct patient care, including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure.
- Complete assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards.
- Address physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
- Formulate, coordinate, and provide a plan of care as established in unit standards, including patient and family education, family needs, and discharge planning throughout hospitalization with members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and revise the plan of care based upon patient response to interventions.
- Problem solve, troubleshoot, and take corrective measures in the care and handling of equipment.
- Participate in unit-based decision-making regarding the utilization of evidence-based practice.
- Actively participate as a team member working toward team goals of the unit and organization and is accountable for unit and system-specific metrics.
- Actively participate in patient quality and safety education programs and other activities designed to improve departmental and organizational quality and safety.
Requirements:
- Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required)
