Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Healthcare Administrator to join our team at Betsy Ross Nursing & Rehab Center. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the facility, ensuring the highest level of care and services for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Oversee all departments and department heads, including nursing, maintenance, rehab, social work, dining services, admissions, recreation, and housekeeping and laundry.
  • Assure the financial stability of the facility through annual budgeting, master staffing, and strategic planning.
  • Be responsible for the general supervision, hiring, and employee termination of staff.
  • Ensure the integration of services with community health resources.
  • Develop and implement an interdisciplinary approach to resident service.
  • Initiate programs and policies between departments.
  • Approve job descriptions for all staff.
  • Conduct department head meetings, QAPI meetings, safety meetings, and other required committee meetings.
  • Be readily accessible to staff and residents for consultation.
  • Involve resident council in addressing conflicting resident and staff interests.
  • Encourage professional and respectful behavior among staff towards residents.
  • Assure prompt handling of resident complaints and recommendations.
  • Analyze new equipment and work processes for safety and PPE use.
  • Provide training in safe work procedures and supervise employees for safety and health performance.
  • Report and analyze accidents and near-accidents, and take steps to prevent future occurrences.
  • Ensure excellent outcomes and minimum deficiencies for NYS and federal surveys and inspections.
  • Work with the DON and Infection Preventionist to manage and control infection control practices.
  • Adhere to all state and federal regulations.
  • Review admissions to ensure facility can meet level of care requirements.
Requirements
  • NYS Nursing Home Administrator License, Active & in Good-Standing.
  • Pleasant personality and ability to work with residents, families, and staff from various departments.
  • Working knowledge of resident care processes.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance representing the facility, community relations, and community outreach.
  • Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations regarding healthcare.
  • May be required to stay at or return to work during public health incidents and/or emergencies.
  • Bachelor's degree in any healthcare-related field or equivalent experience in a Long Term Care facility.
  • Shall meet all requirements and conditions set forth by the New York State Department of Health, Board of Nursing Home Licensure.
  • Minimum of three to five years experience in the areas of long term care.
