Job Summary

The Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer will serve as a technical leader and individual contributor, responsible for contributing to and overseeing key Sleep, Diagnostics and Respiratory product development projects from a mechanical engineering perspective.


This role will have the opportunity to advance to the Mechanical Architect position, providing innovative strategies and intellectual property generation.


The successful candidate will collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers and specialists throughout the Sleep & Respiratory Care organization.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level expertise in respiratory mechanics, algorithms, clinical practices, and risk management to the mechanical engineering team.
  • Participate in the early development activities of Sleep, Diagnostics and Respiratory products with a systems mindset.
  • Advance to the Mechanical Architect role, providing innovative strategies and intellectual property generation.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers and specialists throughout the Sleep & Respiratory Care organization.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 15 years' experience in the design and development of sleep or respiratory care products, with experience in systems engineering highly desirable.
  • Intimate knowledge of FDA quality systems, including ISO 13485, 21CFR Part 820, and risk management-ISO.
  • A minimum of a Master's Degree in Mechanical or Biomedical engineering, with a PhD desired.
  • Ability to perform the minimum physical, cognitive, and environmental job requirements with or without accommodation.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position in Pittsburgh, PA is $116,000 to $199,000, and in San Diego, CA is $130,000 to $223,000. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors.


In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a generous PTO, 401(k) with up to 7% match, HSA with company contribution, stock purchase plan, education reimbursement, and more.
