Development Officer, Stewardship and Data Mining

United Way of the Bluegrass Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Development Officer, Stewardship and Data Mining to join our team. This role will be responsible for implementing and refining methods to support our process-driven approach for donor relationships, building maximum resources for community impact objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with donors and prospects to build trust and commitment to our mission.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of our database to identify major gift prospects and create customized stewardship plans to ensure meaningful recognition and engagement.
- Collaborate with the resource development team to implement broader resource development goals and objectives.
- Identify and research new individual, corporate, or workforce donor prospects through various resources and tools.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of our donors' interests, needs, and philanthropic goals to inform our fundraising strategies.
- Provide data and insights to inform our fundraising efforts and ensure effective use of resources.
- Work closely with program staff and other development team members to maintain a level of functional expertise on issues related to education, income, and health.
- Assist with year-round communication strategies and deliverables with key stakeholders and donors.
- Coordinate and/or provide support for events and direct marketing strategies to increase revenue and new donor acquisition.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to work with diverse groups and maintain positive relationships with donors and stakeholders.
- Proficient with Google and Microsoft Suites, as well as CRM software.
- Strong organizational skills, with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work calmly under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage, foster, and grow long-standing donor relationships.
- Track record of being highly adaptable to changing priorities and working effectively with stakeholders.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
Preferred Experience:
- 5 years of direct fundraising experience in a nonprofit organization.
- 5 years of data mining experience, including expertise on database structure, capabilities, and management.
- Demonstrated background in commercial sales or nonprofit development with a track record of directly contributing to financial growth and retention.
- Experience within a nonprofit or impact organization is preferred.
- Professionally supportive of our mission and values.
- Experience with CRM software, particularly Andar or Bloomerang.
Work Environment:
This role will be primarily based out of our central office, with regular travel between and throughout the communities we serve. Hybrid work arrangements may be possible with manager approval.
Expected Work Hours:
Monday through Friday, 8:30AM-5:00PM, with flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed.
Physical Requirements:
The employee must be able to communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally, and operate standard office machinery. The employee must also be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
Pre-Employment Screening Requirements:
Any candidate offered a position may be required to pass pre-employment screenings as mandated by United Way of the Bluegrass Inc. These screenings may include a national background check, language testing, and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review. A writing sample will be required of final candidates.
