Job Title: Sr. QC Scientist

The Sr. QC Scientist will play a critical role in establishing and maintaining quality control processes for gene production at Twist Bioscience. This position will work closely with the operations team to set up and monitor QC protocols, ensuring the highest level of quality and consistency in our products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain QC protocols for molecular biology processes, working closely with R&D and Bioinformatics teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to set quality standards, including product quality documentation and quality assurance policies.
  • Prepare product and process quality reports, analyzing and summarizing data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including ISO 13485.
Requirements:
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in molecular biology or a related field, with 6+ years of experience.
  • Strong understanding of next-gen sequencing and synthetic biology techniques, including PCA, DNA assembly, and cloning.
  • Excellent statistics and data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret experimental results.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with DNA synthesis and/or assembly.
  • Industrial experience in quality (GMP, ISO, FDA).
  • Deep knowledge of Tableau software.

The base cash compensation for this California-based role is $100,000-$137,000 USD, with bonus, equity, and a generous benefits package available. Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate skill, experience, expertise, and location.
