Special Education Instructor for Autism Program

Soliant is seeking a highly skilled Special Education Instructor to join our team in a Social Communication Program focused on supporting students with Autism. As an integral part of our educational program, you will work closely with general education teachers and support staff to provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs.
Estimated Salary Range$35-$45 per hour, based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Create tailored IEPs for students with special needs, adapting instruction to meet their unique goals and abilities.
- Targeted Instruction and Support: Provide targeted support and instruction to students with diverse learning needs, adjusting teaching strategies and materials as necessary.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with general education teachers, support staff, and specialists to ensure the successful inclusion and support of students with special needs.
- Student Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies to promote academic, social, and emotional growth.
- Record-Keeping and IEP Meetings: Maintain accurate records of student performance and actively participate in IEP meetings with parents, guardians, and the IEP team.
- Creating a Supportive Learning Environment: Establish a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to succeed.
- Valid Teaching Certification in Special Education: Hold a valid teaching certification in Special Education.
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or Related Field: Possess a Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Strong Understanding of Special Education Principles: Demonstrate a strong understanding of special education principles and individualized instruction.
- Classroom Management and Behavior Support Skills: Possess effective classroom management and behavior support skills.
- Empathy, Patience, and Commitment to Student Needs: Exhibit empathy, patience, and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students with special needs.
- Strong Communication and Collaboration Skills: Display strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience Working with Students with Special Needs: Possess experience working with students with special needs, although it is not required.
