Responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate student health needs, developing strategies to promote healthy behaviors and prevent illness.">
  • Counsel students, parents, and staff on health-related issues, providing guidance on disease prevention and management.">
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school professionals to integrate health education into the curriculum.">
  • Develop and implement health promotion programs, focusing on topics such as nutrition, physical activity, and mental health.">
  • Provide emergency care and first aid as needed, working closely with school administrators and medical personnel.">
  • Maintain accurate records of student health data, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.">

Requirements

  • A valid license to practice as a registered nurse in Massachusetts.">
  • A bachelor's degree in nursing or master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution.">
  • A minimum of two years of child health, community health, or other relevant clinical nursing experience.">
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff, adapting to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.">
  • Current certification in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation from a recognized provider.">
  • Able to obtain certification in school nursing with the Department of Education.">

Salary

$65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
