Position Summary

The Culinary Support Specialist role involves engaging in essential tasks related to food preparation and service, alongside maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen environment, all under the guidance of the Head Chef. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that food quality, presentation, safety, and hygiene standards are consistently met, providing nutritious meals for clients and residents of ABC Recovery Center, Inc.

Compensation: $21.00 to $26.00 per hour based on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of daily menu offerings, ensuring high standards of quality.
  • Adapt menu items to accommodate dietary restrictions and food allergies.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace, adhering to all cleaning and dishwashing protocols.
  • Ensure kitchen equipment, dining areas, storage spaces, and supplies are kept clean and orderly.
  • Support inventory management through stocking and counting as necessary.
  • Step in for the Head Chef when required, confidently executing the daily menu.
  • Follow safe food handling practices at all times.
  • Accurately record work hours and submit necessary personnel information in a timely manner.
  • Uphold client confidentiality and protect health information in compliance with regulations.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old with a High School diploma or GED.
  • Possession of a valid Food Handlers card.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • A minimum of 3 years of kitchen or culinary experience in a care facility or similar environment.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
  • Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends, or holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or a related field.
  • Experience in a clinical setting.
  • One year of culinary experience in a substance abuse facility is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
