Role Summary

The Sous Chef plays a pivotal role in the culinary team for Festivals, guiding and mentoring staff to ensure exceptional food quality and guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess a strong culinary background and a genuine enthusiasm for creating memorable dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide ongoing coaching and motivation to culinary team members.
  • Identify areas for operational improvement and implement effective solutions.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality and sanitation.
  • Achieve financial targets and manage budgets effectively.
  • Set benchmarks for culinary excellence and oversee kitchen operations.
  • Ensure adherence to kitchen management protocols, including checklists and cleaning schedules.
  • Develop menu specifications and assist in menu planning.
  • Conduct daily quality checks to uphold flavor standards.
  • Lead culinary operations during events and manage inventory processes.
  • Train team members on culinary skills and menu knowledge.
  • Facilitate pre-shift meetings to align team objectives.
  • Support other locations as required and assist in recipe maintenance.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years in a culinary leadership role.
  • Culinary degree preferred.
  • Proficient in computer applications related to culinary management.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles.
  • Passion for food, hospitality, and retail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
