Role Summary

The Sous Chef plays a vital leadership role within the culinary team for Festivals, guiding and mentoring team members to ensure outstanding food quality and guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess extensive culinary experience and a genuine passion for food and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively mentor and inspire team members to achieve excellence.
  • Identify and implement operational improvements.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and sanitation.

  • Set benchmarks for culinary excellence.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance protocols.
  • Manage inventory levels and communicate needs effectively.
  • Assist in creating menu specifications and ensure adherence to standards.
  • Ensure compliance with kitchen management procedures, including checklists and cleaning schedules.
  • Conduct daily quality checks to maintain flavor standards.
  • Lead culinary operations during events.
  • Manage end-of-month inventory in collaboration with the purchasing team.
  • Monitor food waste to optimize costs.
  • Provide training on menu items and culinary skills.
  • Facilitate pre-shift meetings to prepare for events.
  • Conduct onboarding for new culinary team members.
  • Ensure all food ordering and service processes meet Levy's safety and sanitation standards.
  • Support other Levy locations as required.
  • Assist in recipe maintenance and updates.
  • Manage the culinary department budget.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years in a culinary leadership role.
  • Culinary degree preferred.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Understanding of financial principles.
  • Passion for food, hospitality, and retail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities.
