Key Responsibilities:
- Approximately 5 years of experience in a security analyst role.
- Establishes and applies security settings for tools aimed at threat detection and prevention.
- Collaborates with teams to assess and prioritize incident response and investigation.
- Conducts thorough analysis of security incidents identified by various monitoring tools.
- Leads efforts to remediate security breaches.
- Documents and communicates findings, including case management and after-action reports.
- Analyzes and reports on actionable threat intelligence.
- Generates comprehensive reports and maintains documentation.
- Possesses knowledge of system and network architecture and integration.
- Demonstrates experience in conducting security policy evaluations.
- Exhibits advanced technical expertise in infrastructure and security operations, vulnerability management, and security automation tools.
- Understands common network terminology and TCP/IP addressing and routing.
- Supports a program for vulnerability management and continuous monitoring.
- Analyzes vulnerability data and provides remediation recommendations across various platforms.
- Manages daily operations for security monitoring and vulnerability assessments.
- Possesses foundational knowledge in defending against cyber attacks using security technologies.
- Demonstrates knowledge of operating system security, particularly in Windows and Linux environments.
- Actively participates in team meetings, taking detailed notes and contributing to discussions.
- Creates and refines documentation for daily procedures.
- Communicates clearly and logically regarding issues that arise, documenting troubleshooting steps for future reference.
- Handles assigned patch and vulnerability management tasks.
- Exhibits a solid understanding of the principles of Information Security.
- Strives for continuous improvement in operational performance and customer service.
- Performs additional administrative and support tasks as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in tools such as Splunk, Nessus, FireEye, Carbon Black, and Proofpoint.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
- Understanding of security appliances and technologies, including firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Possession of relevant certifications such as CISSP or CASP (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner) and Security+ CE.
Educational Background:
A degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field is preferred.
Additional Skills:
- Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Shavlik, SCSM).
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools like SolarWinds.
- Experience with ticketing systems such as JIRA, ServiceNow, or Remedy.
