About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Management Project Manager to join our team in Raleigh, NC. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for managing projects related to emergency management and disaster response.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project teams on conventional and unconventional projects, applying technical expertise and project management experience.
  • Coordinate and participate in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors, and draft complex professional service agreements and addenda.
  • Direct project team and client compliance with contract terms and monitor subcontractors' compliance with contractual commitments.
  • Prepare project work plan, scope, schedule, and budget, and communicate these to project team members.
  • Monitor and manage project production for compliance with schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
  • Establish and maintain project account files on the computerized project management information system.
  • Monitor client billings, assist in obtaining payment from clients, and resolve client disputes.
  • Monitor subconsultants' progress and performance, review and approve subconsultant and vendor invoices, and resolve payment and project disputes.
  • Schedule and coordinate project meetings with the project team, regulatory agencies, the client, and others involved with the projects.
  • Report financial status of projects to technical managers.
  • Identify new business opportunities for the firm, coordinate and participate in project presentations to clients and other external groups, and promote firm's capabilities.
  • Participate in project opportunity evaluation, consultant selection, and the preparation of firm's qualification/experience statements.
  • May supervise technical professionals, associate project managers, and design staff, including workload and staffing management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in emergency management, planning, economics, or related major.
  • Emergency Management coursework and/or training a plus.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Strong grammar, spelling, composition, and proofreading abilities.
  • Job requires detail-orientation and the ability to multi-task and work under the pressure of a deadline-driven environment.
  • Computer skills required and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other software programs.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Must be willing to work under the pressure of frequent deadlines and work extra hours at times, as necessary.
  • Must possess the ability to coordinate and work well with other staff, and ability to participate in ongoing educational opportunities.
